Release Note

This is the release note of Bayesian Knowledge Discoverer (BKD). It includes some technical details you may be curious about and a little token of gratitude to all those people who helped us.

Technical Notes
BKD is implemented in Common Lisp and CLOS, following the ANSI (CLtL2)  standard. The MS Windows 95/NT release was developed under Harlequin LispWorks for  MS Windows 95/NT version 4.0.1. The Unix release was developed under Harlequin  LispWorks for Unix version 3.5. The Apple Macintosh release was developed under  Macintosh Common Lisp version 4.0.  Following the CLtL2 standard, BKD was  mostly written between 10pm and 3am.

Credits
BKD was conceived by Marco Ramoni and Paola Sebastiani, and designed and  implemented by Marco Ramoni at the Knowledge Media Institute of The Open  University. The BKD project is supported by the INSTILL programme of The Open  University and by equipment grants from Apple Computer and Sun Microsystems.  The development of BKD, its theory and its implementation, benefited from the help,  coming under different forms, of several people: Paul Cohen, Trevor Collins, Greg  Cooper, Marcus Daniels, John Domingue, Marc Eisenstadt, David Hand, Greg Mann,  Simon Masterton, Alberto Riva, Paul Snow,  and Zdenek Zdrahal.  The contributions  of the participants to our seminars at City University, University of Durham, Open  University, Royal Holloway, University of London and University of Warwick were  extremely valuable.  The support of our colleagues was invaluable.
