One Response to Brandon tree

At the time I had no idea what sort of tree this was, so I put it up on iSpot http://ispot.org.uk/node/56636 – where ‘Dipperwatcher’ suggested an identification a few weeks later:
    Birch-leaved maple (Acer stachyophyllum)
Notes: Small tree up to 15 meters high. Leaves are three-lobed, with the side lobes greatly reduced. Petiole is scarlet and good 6 cm in length. Leaves paler underneath and downy/hairy. Looks like a Acer pretending to another tree.
