Frequently Asked Questions about...

studying with the OU

16. I don't want a qualification - I want to study for interest is that OK? Or, I don't want a qualification - I just need to study a specific course - is that OK?

Yes that's fine. Many of our students choose courses for interest with no intention of gaining a qualification.

However you need to check you have the necessary level of skills and knowledge to tackle the course. You may find that you need to complete other courses to fill gaps in your knowledge and skills before taking the course that interests you most. We still recommend that you consider taking a level 1 course first.

You may still want to complete all the assessments to get feedback on your progress and if the pass mark is achieved, your OU record will be credited with completing the course.
