Frequently Asked Questions about...

choosing courses at pre-undergraduate / undergraduate level

28. What is the difference between a degree without honours and one with honours?

The key difference is the level of difficulty of the courses you choose to take. For an honour degree you have to take more courses at level 3 (120 points).

Degrees without honours are not classified, but degrees with honours are. The class of honours degree you are award (first-class honours, upper second-class honours, lower second-class honours third-class honours) will be determined by the grades you receive for your level 2 and 3 courses with level 3 course results counting more.

Finally, all named degrees are degrees with honours.
