Climbing the Matterhorn
The Matterhorn, August 2002. A mountaineer takes a leading-edge mobile phone on his ascent of the famous Swiss landmark and sends images and voice messages to the KMi lab in Milton Keynes.
Climbing Lhotse
Lhotse, April/May 2003. Same mountaineer submits messages to an audioblog during ascent of Lhotse in the Everest range.
Climbing Everest
Everest via Tibet, Spring 2005 and Spring 2006. Same mountaineer this time using a Thuraya satellite phone to send GPS data via SMS and voice messages to create an audio blog.
Climbing Carstensz Pyramid
Carstensz Pyramid, Indonesia, December 2006. Same mountaineer now using a Inmarsat satellite data terminal to send photos and voice messages to create a blog.
Vinson Massif
Vinson Massif, Dec 2008 - Jan 2009. Same mountaineer now using a Iridium satellite data terminal to send photos and voice messages to create a blog.
