iTunes and podcasts
Apple Computers have extended the RSS format by specifying their own set of tags which can be used within the RSS feed. The additional tags provide added functionality to podcast streams which are subscribed to using Apple's Itunes software. Yahoo and media RSS
Yahoo have produced a series of additional enclosures for RSS 2.0, with the aim of extending the functionality to include other media types, such as short films or TV, as well as providing additional metadata with the media. The format is particularly useful for bloggers, allowing the syndication of multimedia content.
