presentation

Our partners Vittorio Nespeca, Kenny Meesters and Tina Comes from the Delft University of Technology, presented the paper “Evaluating Platforms for Community Sense making: Using the Case of the Kenyan Elections” at the 15th ISCRAM Conference. The conference was held at the Rochester Institute of Technology in NY, USA from 20th to 23rd of May 2018.

The research presented in this paper focuses on studying the sensemaking process of non-mandated responders through the aid of IT platforms such as the COMRADES platform. Using a comprehensive evaluation exercise based on real data from the 2017 Kenyan elections, the authors examine the development of a shared situational awareness, the related workflows and the use of this awareness in a group decision making process. In this manner, the requirements for resilience platforms as well as further research directions are identified.

You can read the COMRADES paper in pages 924-934 here.
