The 10th GATE training course will take place from 26-30 June 2017 at the University of Sheffield, UK. This is an annual course which aims to teach some of the fundamentals of text mining and social media analysis, as well as intensive use of the GATE tools for performing these tasks.

It includes a number of practical sessions so that users can practise and experiment with tools and techniques, and also includes Q&A sessions, discussion of participants’ own research and problem solving, demonstrations of current applications including work from the COMRADES project, and social events. The course is suitable for both those with programming expertise and those from a less technical background. Participants typically form an equal mix of research students, academics, and researchers from industry.
